Sorna attends primary school. His father, a shepherd, had recently drowned and died. Sorna and a younger sister, who is also a student, are under her mothers care. The family had previously taken out a loan to build a house that was left unfinished due to financial difficulties and now live in the childrens uncles house. The only source of income for this family of three is a subsidy that does not cover the living expenses and education of their two children. They are in dire need of financial support.

سورنا در دبستان درس میخواند. پدرش که چوپان بوده به تازگی درآب غرق شده و فوت کرده است. سورنا و یک خواهر کوچکتر از خود که او نیز محصل است تحت سرپرستی مادر هستند. این خانواده قبلا با اخذ وام اقدام به ساخت خانه کرده بودند که به دلیل ناتوانی مالی ناتمام مانده و در حال حاضر در منزل عموی بچه ها زندگی می کنند. تنها منبع درآمد این خانواده سه نفره یارانه میباشد که کفاف مخارج زندگی و تحصیل دو فرزند محصل را نمیدهد. آنها نیاز مبرم به حمایت مالی دارند.
