Omid is top student in the final year of high school. His father has a severe case of neurotic disorder and is unable to work. He abuses Omids mother resulting in her frequent admittance to the hospital. In spite of the hardship she goes through, Omids mother tries hard to earn a living and support her family. This family of six live in a rental residence and have difficulty paying for their rent and daily expenditures.

امید در مقطع دبیرستان با معدل بسیار عالی مشغول به تحصیل است.پدر ناراحتی اعصاب شدیدی دارد که قادر به کار کردن نیست.مادر آنها با توجه به آزار جسمی که شوهرش به او میرساند و باعث بستری شدن او در بیمارستان می شود اما باز تلاش در کسب درآمد میکند.آنها در خانه ای اجاره ای با چهار فرزند خود زندگی میکنند.که علاوه بر اجاره خانه قسط هم دارند و باعث شده که بشدت در مضیقه قرار بگیرند.
