Mousa studies in high school. He has an older sister who is mentally retarded and does not go to school. The father, who was a leather factory worker, died as a result of falling into factory acid. The mother is taking care of her two children and despite severe anemia and osteoporosis, she is learning sewing to help support the family. Mousa collects plastic and cans in the streets with his uncle in the evenings after school. They do not have their own house and live in a small room of their maternal grandfathers house. موسی در مقطع دبیرستان تحصیل می کند. او یک خواهر بزرگتر دارد که عقب مانده ذهنی است و مدرسه نمیرود. پدر که کارگر چرم سازی بوده بر اثر افتادن در اسید کارخانه فوت شده است. مادر سرپرستی دو فرزند خود را به عهده دارد و با وجود کم خونی شدید و پوکی استخوان در حال یادگیری خیاطی میباشد تا بتواند به امرار معاش خانواده کمک کند. موسی عصرها بعد از مدرسه با دایی خود در خیابان ها پلاستیک و قوطی جمع می کند. آنها از خود خانه ای ندارند و در یک اتاق کوچک از منزل پدربزرگ مادری زندگی می کنند. این خانواده در وضعیت نامناسب اقتصادی هستند و مادر برای تامین مخارج زندگی و تحصیل موسی نیاز به حمایت مالی دارد. بنا به شرایط نامناسب این خانواده نیازمند 45$ ماهیانه را دارند.
